a long post in a long time.....

its been a while since i last posted. its been a while since i last wrote.
Been filling myself up with Bernouilli's Equations and Equations of Continuity, not to mention silly columns and beams. To date, i'm proud to be one of the only few NUS students taking 8 modules every semester =)

Today, i've realised that there are so many Hwa Chong Junior College boys in NUS Engine, and boy, are they smart.... No wonder we're amongst the top 10 in technology. Which makes me wonder what happened to me. Am i not that smart? Or am i just not working hard enough. The latter is a huge problem.

But it doesn't matter. I've learnt much till this day and i've achieved a life and a mentality for God that i'm proud of. Its hard to be different. I don't know many people like me, though i have to honestly say Guo Yi is a real encouragement!
Somehow, i'm a bit skeptical of academic success coupled with academic success in NUS. Its just rare, or maybe i just haven't been exposed enough. Sure, many christians are great in their studies, but no one really hits the top.
Christians i've met that actually hit it obviously have given up certain aspects of their Christianity to pursue that success. Sometimes, they just lack love, sometimes they're just selfish, sometimes they're just never contented.
Which of course begs the question...? Is this God's plan for his children?
Sure it is.
But God will still show the world, that there is life after studies and after work.
And when everything temporary ends, then come the rewards.
Just remember the story of the old man on his bed....
Life really is meaningful.

Being lousy is really being good....
But the trick is about balance.....

Everything as a geomancer might put it, has a "yin and yang" side to it
I beg to differ.
Everything is nothing. How philosophical.
Nothing is Everything, and philosophy makes sense as nothing is the basis of everything.
Philosophy is useless! What philosophy can you study?!
Engineering is useless because its a maths equation, and you can never finish factoring every single force into it. Basically you can't derive everything or solve everything, and without solving everything you have accomplished nothing. And once you've derived everything, engineering is useful for no-thing.
Science is useless because you can't know everything, and at the end of the day you know nothing more than someone who knows more than you.
The arts is useless because they encompass everything, yet nothing can truly be considered original because you're bound to think of it, just when and where and whether you express it.
Law is useless because you're just making a big "everything" about nothing (think the law case of the Singaporean man and his $60 claim).
Also, the social sciences try to make sense of everything, but end up with nothing besides "every-thing".
Hmm think some more, medicine is useless because its everything for people who have nothing and want everything, yet not realising that nothing is where they'll end up at the end of the day.
Music might seem useful, but still, unless you can play and compose everything, maybe your piece won't becoming nothing after a while.
Computing is useless too, everything comes from a 1 and a 0 but basically they are nothing terms and nothing is more simple that 1 and 0 (think the matrix).
So once again, everything comes from nothing which is really nothing in itself. and we're living in cycles in this education system

So, we should stop studying and the truly smart ones are the ones that don't study.

So now, imagine yourself living in the wilderness where everything is yours. nothing matters and nothing costs anything. Its all yours, thats how life should be... free =)

Saying that, i love my darling so much. she's the bestest though she tends to get stressed up not being able to do questions. i love her no matter what.

"we live in cycles, we were born of cycles and we are a living cycle."
