My Dearest sounds so sad sometimes....
She seems stressed, frustrated, troubled.... mostly stress though...
She just gets herself down because she feels "slower" than the others
I understand, i felt that way too, through JC.

My principal even told me "Don't worry at the pace others are going at, just go at your own pace"

But its hard to be struggling and lagging behind everyone else.

In sociology, we always talk about meritocratic Singapore.....
Thats how we were brought up to be. And even when we reach the top, somehow there's always better people from other places to compete with.
We were brought up to live and survive in this performance trap.
We always feel we're lagging behind... and we just want to be better than others so life will be better for us.

Thats the Singaporean Mentality : If you're better, you'll be more well off...
Thats also generally true in life, just that in the Singaporean context, it actually specifically writes... "If you're better in your studies, you'll be more well off"
So, then it becomes questionable!
My darling is just caught up in it all, my poor poor dear....

But, in truth, it really doesn't matter! ITs OKAY to fall into mediocrity.
Whats wrong with being the "normal" person...

=) I still remember the show "Extraordinary people" And i will always remember those people over those from shows such as "The Arena" or "Who is the brainest kid?" or something like that, or even... "A stroke of genius"

That is what makes people great.
Thats why my darling is great, she's extra-ordinary, she's my perfect girl.
