Fishing Frenzy

Our 2nd Fishing Trip a few days back
We hurriedly went to NSRCC to fish right after the rain stopped but we didn't realise it was low tide then. Ha! So...we caught nothing!
Nevertheless, we had a nice experience using life fishes as bait. They were really tiny...and initially, i freaked out when dear poked the hook through the fish. I literally squeaked when the fishes tried to jump. Dear surprisingly handled everything so calmly.

Dear's rod.

My rod.

Today we attempted to fish again. Praise the Lord. We were welcomed with a bright sunny afternoon today. After getting some shrimps, we headed down to NSRCC to fish again! This time, we were smarter, we made sure it was high tide. The scenery was quite spectacular, but very very hot. We ended up burnt like lobsters.

And unfortunately, we didn't manage to catch anything again! Quite disappointed cos we spent a whole good 4 hours there, basked in the sun! But nonetheless, the experience was still fun and we will continue to persevere and attempt to catch fishes again.

Looks like Bintan eh?!

Look at the glaring sun!

Professional fisherman in action!
(I didn't take any pictures of myself..cos i looked far to amateur. Embarrassing.)

My rod, casted out in the sea. Taking pictures while waiting for catches.

After fishing for 3 times, I realised that fishing is really not easy! We really were in high hopes today, that we would catch at least 1 fish! And actually, we almost did! Dear almost caught a huge silver fish...he was really lucky cos immediately after he casted, the fish ate his bait..but perhaps cos we don't really know how to reel the fish in, the fish managed to escape. What a pity! Guess i got to buy some fish from the market cos my mum has been expecting me to bring some fish back to bbq. -_- Today, we also tried another technique of fishing called drop fishing instead of casting. It's much easier than casting, but because of the grey looming clouds above us, we had to call it a day at 4pm...and thus, we didnt wait any longer. Fishing really needs patience. But i guess, it's really a good hobby to keep up...it really helps you to save a lot of money and prevent you from lazing around at home haha. Plus it gives good fellowship with whoever you're going with! Ahh..not forget, cleaning up after fishing is a whole messy affair. Sometimes, you get hooked accidentally and the strings can get entangled. Apparently, i've lost 2 floats and my string got entangled once while fishing...it was so messy that dear just had to cut it off and tie it back again. I guess most girls probably wouldn't like fishing that much..cos you gotta touch raw prawns that is really dirty...get yourselves wet with seawater and seaweed..and the hot weather can damage your skin..and not to forget, there's no toilets around and your hands will stay dirty throughout. I've experienced all those... despite the messiness and dirtiness, I guess i really enjoy being immersed in a natural surrounding. Afterall, I'm more of a rural than an urban person!

Can't wait to fish with jess this coming sunday! Really hope she enjoys it!

On a side note, I played scrabble with dear again after a hearty midnight supper of rotiprata at simpang bedok yesterday. And i lost miserably. Haha! Scrabble is really a game of luck....just look at the letters i picked! No vowels at all! My goodness...i had a good hard time wrecking my brains past 1am yesterday.

Our Game.

My letters. Disgusting right.

And to dear's closest friend sylvia, we're praying for you :) Glad you managed to pour out your troubles to dear yesterday over the phone...hope you're feeling better now. Just remember that God and us will always be there for you. May God grant you the strength and comfort to undergo this tough period right now. Huggs. God bless you.
