Ubin Exploration!
We finally went to Ubin last friday and it was a really wonderful trip. Cycling was really fun yet tiring, with all the undulating slopes and small muddy pools and wild dogs just beside us...simply rural! Both dear and i really adore nature; which makes us dream of migrating to New Zealand when we get married or when we retire. Singapore just dont suit us. oh wells. Anyway, we really thoroughly enjoyed ourselves despite the sultry weather. In fact, we really thank God for the wonderful sunny weather!
We managed to see picturesque scenery that we never expected Singapore to have, and interesting flora and fauna like mudskippers, crabs, small fishes, termite nest etc. We also met a very nice old gentleman, who volunteered to help us take a picture at the quarry, and he happened to be bird watching. Thus, he pointed to us that at the far end of the quarry, there are migratory birds that are nesting..they came from the north and will go back after the winter season. It was a really spectacular sight when we viewed the birds and the nesting on the tree branches through his professional binoculars. We even saw eagles swooping down the sky, looking for a prey. This gentleman even added that it's sad how people are now so caught up with work and all in Singapore that so little of us really stop to appreciate nature nowadays. Thank God for him..it really spiced up our trip! :)
Below are pictures of scenery that you've never expected its existence in Singapore. It also shows how much we cycled that day!
