Holiday Reflections
Hmm, i thought i should try to reflect how we've spent our 3 month holiday. Seems pretty amazing how time managed to pass so fast for 2 students who didn't choose to work during the entire holidays! It's good that our holidays were pretty balanced, with enough time to rest, play, spend time with each other and both our families, meeting up with various friends, and more importantly to grow in Christ. Personally, i'm quite satisfied with the way our holidays turned out to be, and with all the 10 hour sleep i had for almost the past 3 months, i feel recharged for the coming semester. But i think, i still need a little more time to prepare my heart and to pray so that i can set my focus and priorities right. So anyway, this's a brief list of how we managed to spend our 3 months without working and without feeling bored (which i don't know why, but amazes quite a lot of friends).
Things we did:
- Spent lots of quality time with each other (very impt)
- shopped enough (bought a shoe and 2 dresses using vouchers...)
- spent lots of time with my family and dear's family...eating dinners, going for swims... (very impt too)
- exercised quite a bit (swam more than 5 times, ran abotu 2 times, cycled about 2 times, walked ALOT)
- had a trip to sydney with jess
- had a family trip to japan (for me)
- met up with friends
- went for lots of movies and countless of dvds at home
- played boardgames (mastermind, hotel)
- visited sungei buloh
- had lots of cookouts at each other's home
- renovated dear's room and packed both our rooms
- spent 2 weeks at the hospital looking after dear's dad
- went for YA retreat for 2 days
- SM training and retreat
- went for more of my family's gatherings on saturdays and sundays
- regular cell group on sundays
- HAD LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF REST (almost 10 hours of sleep everyday. i love to sleep. hee hee)
(and a lot more which i can't seem to remember right now...)
Things we wanted to do but haven't done:
- climb the bukit timah hill
- not meeting up with sylvia! (but its okay...we'll be meeting her in 2 days time :) )
**************************
think that's about it. We are very satisfied with our 3-month break. It was very fruitful and enriching...we both grew deeper in our relationship with each other and with God, and also with our families. Thank God for that. Our holidays have been pretty balanced since our main focus for this holiday was to spend quality time and build deeper bonds with each other and our families. Think we've achieved that and we're happy :) I haven't got the time to blog about the YA retreat we both went..but it was really good. I've learnt quite a bit from the speakers. And thank God too...cos i've finally settled down on dear's cell group. It has been a pretty long transition period.
Alright..sch's gonna start tmr. Yes, there's monday blues..and this sem is crazily hectic for me, especially. Probably the worst sem ever. But i'm thankful that during the last few days of our holidays, dear and i came together to talk about the coming semester, to encourage and support each other despite the dreading workload. It was really nice, and we've been coming together to pray so that we can start the semester with our eyes fixed on God.
This sem will be quite crucial for both of us, as it would kinda determine the class we'll most likely get. But nonetheless, we know that we have God to lean on :)
Aanyway, dear...don't worry about the coming semester. We'll be there to support and encourage each other, definitely :) And remind each other to seek God first :)
