In God's control

God works intricately and creatively in our lives. Often, we are blinded and do not see God working in our lives. But if we do think and reflect back on each and every incident that has happened to you, somehow, you'll realise how God has wonderfully planned each and every single event such that things work out best for you. Of course we may not see it that way immediately, but one day, we will.

Recently, many of us would have heard the news about the Singapore flyer, which would be suspended till the New Year and that would be the longest suspension ever. Well, just 2 days ago, matthias and i planned to take rouvin and ray to the flyer as they have been wanting to go on it, and would definitely not want to miss it in this trip. When we reached there at about 6pm, we were thoroughly disapointed to see the very unwelcoming noticed put up saying, "Flights to the singapore flyer have been temporarily suspended. We apologise for the inconvenience". To add on to our disappointment, we actually walked all the way from raffles city to the flyer itself, which was about 15 minutes of walking under the hot sun. Our canadian cousins were perspiring and couldn't really take the heat. Imagine how dismayed they were. Somehow by hook or by crook, we really wanted to sit the flyer cos the weather was so nice and we were already there. So, we went up to the counter and asked what happened... and they said they've no idea when it will resume operation. We waited for about half an hour, before we gave up because our cousins had a dinner appointment.

The amazing thing was I really prayed and trusted God that things would work out. I could absolutely find no reason why He would reject my prayer...i mean it's just a singapore flyer ride! And i really wanted my cousins to go up there and enjoy themselves! Why wouldn't God accept my prayer? But He didn't answer, and left me bewildered as i left that place. When i went back home, my mom started telling me that there were police cars, and all the stuff about people being stuck in there for a whole 6 hours, people having no choice but to pee in there and all. It got me stunned for a moment... i mean, it was that serious?! The person at the counter seemed like it wasn't serious, and said it shouldn't take too long since she said the fault has been repaired and they just had to double-check! I never expected that a fire took place! WOW, no wonder God didn't answer my prayer! And what's more, our dear cousins wanted us to take them there earlier! If we were there earlier, we might be the ones stuck in there for a whole 6 hours, and i can imagine how frustrating that would be. Their entire trip to singapore would be 'spoilt', i suppose. I can't even imagine myself being stuck up there...how much more terrible would a tourist feel when they're supposed to enjoy themselves on a holiday!

God works in amazing ways, and His ways are always the best for you. Don't ever doubt Him.

When things don't turn out your way, don't blame God right away. God has His reasons, and He would never harm you. I really thank God for taking care of my cousins and our safety :)

However, speaking of the flyer, i think it'll take a while to convince me to go up there again. Afterall, this's the 4th time it has stopped and it has only been operating for 10 months. It really makes me question the enginnering design behind it.
