A trip down to Changi Museum
Just 2 days back, both of us were thinking what to do because we were getting so bored with Singapore. It's always either shopping or eating or watching movies most of the time. Thus, while thinking of places to go, somehow we had a tourist mindset and started suggesting places like Bird Park, Crocodile Farm, Chicken Farm, Horse Stables, Kusu Island, Zoo...and with some research done, we decided to explore Changi Museum and Chapel. I mean, both of us haven't heard of this place before, and dear said the website looked interesting. The added advantage was it's in the east..so its really convenient for me, just that to get there, we gotta go by car. So..off we went! And we were so glad we went..cos it turned out to be such an enriching and memorable experience for us both! We had so much fun =) Let the pictures do the talking!
Btw...Changi Museum was created to remember the POW days in 1942. Taking photos in the museum was prohibited..so i cldn't take any of the ornaments. But it was really sad reading and learning about how the Chinese went through all the torture even though SS did kinda desensitize my feelings about World War II after a while. Hai, anyway... i went out of the museum, and i just told dear..

Ha! And again, thakns to my acute sense of sight, i saw this sign on one of the doors "Johore Battery, 1km away". My eyes lit up and i nudged dear immediately and exclaimed.. "lets go lets go!". I'm always so excited when i can get to see something new and unexplored (other than academics) and i would just start to prance around like a little girl. Yay,...and dear was so nice. He was willing to bring me there..so we took a little drive down! =)
So anyhow! Johore Battery is just a patch of grassland that comprises of 3 guns. Monster guns..and i think they were used to protect the East from Japanese Invasion last time. I think la..haha didn't really read it. Too excited to see what's there. oops. And there's a radar station there too...soo interesting. I've never seen one. haha.

And there's this missile bomb thingy and dear was trying to lift it up. so cute. Unfortunately, one of the chains were already broken.

Ohhh..and we bought a little mini souvenir postcard for remembrance too. This is the picture of one of the murals a prisoner, by the name of Stanley, painted in the prison cell walls. So nice right..Amazing. He's one hero i respect...spreading the gospel even in times of torture, in hope of saving all the prisoners.
And this is a pretty picture of us!
Today, i went to Dear's place to bid for our modules and then we headed to Haw Par Villa. (Told you we're very touristy these days) hahaha. But we kinda regretted it lah. It's so full of buddhist statues and all..and the 18th levels of hell was so scary. Thinking about it now at 2am brings me goosebumps. Thank God for His grace and mercy. We barely spent 1 hour there...and quickly got out cos the place was giving dear a headache. Initially i wanted to take some pictures for remembrance sake, but dear didn't like the idea since we're christians and all..so in the end, i deleted them all! :) And i was busy praying while walking up all the slopes cos the whole place just feels so wrong.
We headed back to dear's place again and had a fun time playing our remote helicopted and Game of Life. And then off to wash dear's car! We did a very haphazard job though cos we had to rush for dinner with dear's mummy. And it was yummy! We went to eat crab at Ghim Moh...cheap and good! :)
And have you been wondering how our hamsters have been? To date, we have 3 hamsters named 'bibi', 'bobo', and 'bibo'. Dear has been taking care of them for almost a year now...so loving ain't he. We have intentions of mating bibo and bobo together to create a 'bibo city' (supposed to be joke to rhyme vivo city btw). so lame i know...james, my churchie, was the one who said it n it's kinda funny i feel haha. They are all very healthy, bibo is exceptionally active but it's a male..so its okay :) Anyone wants hamsters? =)
So presenting to you our 'babies'!
And the father....
don't you think he's really fatherly? :)
It really brings warmth to my heart, to see his care and tender touch to our hamster babies...
