Family Bonding Holidays

This Holidays has been really different for me personally. Dear and i really made conscious efforts to spend productive times with our Families to strengthen family bonds. Of course, we didn't neglect our friends too...we had quite a few meet ups with our friends esp our closer ones and i personally grew closer to dear's churchies and i'm really excited for the new friendships.

Besides that, dear and i have also been spending a lot of time together. We wanna make good use of the holidays to strengthen our relationship to a deeper level...which we don't really have the time to do during the semester since we'll always be rushing for assigments and projects (very stressful and daunting)..we hardly have time to pa-tor at all during the semester. So when holidays are here, it's necessary for us to spend much more personal time with each other.

So anyhow! a few days back, dear came over and we did our album which we were supposed to start a year ago. hahaha...but nevertheless, at least we started doing it. This album is for us, and we're doing it up so we can recollect our memories next time and our children and grandchildren will be able to see how handsome and pretty we were last time. wahahhaha. It's a lot of work since we decorated it quite a bit...thus, we only done up 5 pages so far hahaha. Not bad already lah.

Dear, the artist, in action!

The insides.

And we also done up jia min and yiling's bday present for the year...We made a comic photoframe which was really cute and funny. So fun doing it. Thanks to dear's creative ideas. I don't think they read my blog...so i think it's okay posting it up here. For those who knows them, pls dun let them know. It's a super advanced done-up present hahaha. Nice right.. =)

Oh..and sweet claire bought dear and i a mickey and minnie soft toys from Japan. It's so cute...and we hanged it in dear's car...Thanks claire! =)

On New Year's Eve, dear's family invited me for dinner at Tung Lok Seafood Restaurant at East Coast. The food was yummylicious and i bet, very expensive too. We had alacarte seafood buffet...so u can imagine how much we ate. So thankful towards dear parents for always treating me to such good food. Very privilege indeed. I felt a little embarrassed when dear's mummy wished for many grandchildren when we were toasting though. *blush*

Our initial plan was to see fireworks but it wld be too inconvenient to park and it wld be too crowded as well. So dear brought me to 'dou feng'...it was so fun..i was screaming in the car and sticking my head and hands out as the wind brush through our faces and hair. Everyone must have thought i was a mad woman. Dear brought me to see aeroplanes in the closest view possible...don't know how to describe the location..but it's really cool. The planes took off just a few metres away from us. It was a fabulous sight..my first time! :)

Very dark pictures. At 10.30pm, we went for dear's church's watchnight service..and it was great. God spoke to me in a very still voice...and clearly told me what I have to do in this coming year. It's really a huge task for me..and I hope by the end of 2008, i will be released from this bondage. Thank you God for guiding me and speaking to me. Though i had a silent countdown in church this year, it was a fabulous one because every moment was spent with dear and God. And there were so many people to wish Happy New Year when the clock struck 12! :) Dear stayed over at my place and we had 2 rounds of Game of Life after a serious heart-to-heart talk regarding the coming new year. Dear will be my accountability partner :)

Today, dear's parents treated me to lunch again with Aunty Grace at Chin Lee Restaurant. Oh my, another round of seafood. I'm seriously putting on a lot a lot of weight. Good time of fellowship again, but another round of overeating.

And the highlight of the day was table-tennis and bowling with my family! It was such an exciting afternoon. I suggested bowling and my mom was really interested in it..thus, we managed to pull my whole family together with dear to Changi Beach Club to play bowling. But because it was fully booked till 8, we went to play table tennis first. It was so tiring...but really fun...dear's a tough opponent hahaha. And i was known as 'fast and furious' only when i get to hit the ball at the right angle. haha. We were in total sweat after almost 2 hours of playing.

Dinner was at Changi Beach Club restaurant...this time, we didn't overeat thank God. But still, another round of good food. I'm so very blessed with food..!! And we headed on to 2 games of bowling. It was hilarious...we were all jumping and shouting with joy and glee when we get strike or spare. Apparently, i broke the record of 13 long-kangs! :( I'm really bad at bowling. aiz. And they were all laughing at me..the way i throw the ball and all. But really glad they had fun lah. My brother had the most number of strikes lah! and dear was not bad too! really proud of him!

I didn't take really nice photos cos i was too absorbed with the game...but nonetheless, thank God for such a productive family-bonding time we had today! :) Indeed, family is most important in our hearts aside from God. Do Cherish and treasure every moment!

This is how we spent our First Day of 2008.
