My very 1st Attempt to cook Chicken Rice (claypot style) !!
It was on impulse when i decided to cook lunch for dear and my maid, mable, some time last week. I initially wanted to cook a simple dish of Udon Soup and a side dish since dear has been craving to eat udon. Sadly, my fridge ran out of udon noodles...and thus, i decided to do claypot chicken rice instead. However, i can't really call it claypot chicken rice cos i didn't use a claypot...but nonetheless, i think you get what i mean by claypot style. Since i didn't try this dish before and i don't have any recipe book at hand, i needed some guidance from my maid. But i decided to change her method and cook it by another way. It took me about 1 hour to defrost the chicken, cut up the ingredients and cook the dish. I prepared vegetable soup too! It's quite an accomplishment, though wasn't perfect, cos unlike the soup i made for my dad on father's day, i used chicken bones for the flavour rather than the cheapo method of using chicken stock (which is super unhealthy!)
This's a very unglam me..cooking. I started cooking after i just woke up...and thus the messy hair, and big baggy childish t shirt. I hope i'm not looking more and more like a housewife! heh heh heh!
