Look back, and remember those behind...

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” (Philippians 2:3-4)

You know, life in chemical engineering can get you really clouded. When there are so much work to do, we tend to only focus on getting it done and with the stiff competition, most of us want to strive towards a good grade, a good cap. We fear that we won't be able to catch up with lectures, we fear we won't be able to get our tutorials / homework done, we fear when we don't know how to go about doing our projects. When your mind gets filled with all these thoughts, worries and anxieties, we tend to lose our focus here in life. Our purpose here, our reason of existence here. God didn't just put us here to worry and simply rush through all these datelines. Why would He want to do that? God is a God of love, He woudln't create us just to see us getting tortured by all the work. He wants to see our faithfulness in Him, our love for Him.

Jesus came here not to be served, but to serve.

Likewise, let us remember to serve God even in Chemical Engineering itself. Remeber those who are struggling behind, remember those who are struggling in their faith. Remeber those who are going through emotional struggles. Don't keep chasing to be in the front, but look back, and help those who have fallen...and bring them back to the race, the race towards the heavenward prize, and not the earthly prize here. As Christians, i pray we will be able to reflect Christ in us, to others out there.

Today has been very tiring, and i found myself pushing forward time and time again, wanting to get work done. It's really tiring, because i failed to depend on God. No matter how hard i try, if it's by my own strength, God will never be pleased. Let us always remember to not think about our own interests, but God's interests instead. Just like the verse right on top of this post. I think it personally serves as a really good reminder to me.

Hope this verse serves as a good reminder to all out there too, who are currently overwhelmed with the currents of the world.

God bless you :)
