Thank God for ultimate grace
For some who might have known, I have been pretty worried for the past week over my FYP. Well, partly because of peer-pressure since every chemengineer seems to be cooped up in the lab for several weeks already while I'm happily slacking away at home, enjoying my 10-12 hours sleep per day. In fact, i was anxious over wanting to start my fyp as soon as possible, since i felt as though i was lagging way way behind. I emailed my fyp phd mentor twice to convey the message that i would really like to start my fyp, and she did reply to my 1st email that she would inform me of the day I should come down to view the experiment. So, ever since then, I have been patiently waiting for her email...but to no avail, which explains the extreme amount of rest I'm getting. Not forgetting, I had a week of swiny confinement at home, which almost bored me to death. But I must say, I am really glad for the week of rest because I feel so much more rejuvenated and recharged now. Besides, I managed to do some 'admin' stuff at home to kill my boredom, such as settling my timetable, doing up my resume, reading up several fyp journals, selecting photos to develop, and finally, job selection. Yes, I actually dug up Saturday's newspapers to search for jobs.
So, to cut the long story short, God has really answered my prayers all these while. I didn't catch any swine despite having breathed in dear's germs, and after much thought, I decided to email my mentor to let her know how worried i was. And she replied immediately, to my surprise, telling me not to worry, for my experiment isn't tedious and time-consuming. Ahhh, what a sigh of relief. And she even assured me that I would be able to get lots of results at the end. All my unnecessary worries about whether my mentor is friendly and helpful, suddenly vanished away. Thank God for such a kind reply from her. So meanwhile, i guess i can still catch some rest for the week.
On a happy note, I have met up with yi ling and jia min today, together with our beloved teachers (Mrs Kay, Mrs Leong, Mr Desai, Mr Foo, Ms Kwan) at TJC today. Kinda suprised that a really impromptu late-night message to them yesterday actually yielded so many positive replies, so much so that we could meet all of them at almost the same time today which was a really nice catch-up session. Photos another time!
Oh...and I actually have started journaling my quiet time for about a week already, ever since i came back from Switzerland. So far so good, let's see how long i can keep up! :)
Thank God for His grace, and healing hands. Matthias is almost towards full recovery! Thank you all for your well-wishes, prayers and concern too! huggs.
